Horse Lover’s Day Camp: Ages 7 to 16 (Day or Extended Day)

Do you love horses? Then our Horse Lover's Program is for you! This program is open to both beginner riders and experienced competitors alike. Horse campers spend the first half of their day at the barn, Monday through Friday weather permitting. Campers are evaluated on horseback on Monday mornings by our riding instructors and then paired with an appropriate horse and placed in groups based on their level of experience, not by age. Occasionally, horse changes will be made throughout the week. This program includes a daily riding lesson or mounted activity such as trail ride or games on horseback, as well as an educational barn class and barn chores. Campers are able to learn valuable riding skills, horse care and horsemanship skills throughout their week at camp that help them to become a well-rounded horse person.

Horse Day Campers Drop off is between 7 am - 8 am M-F; daily pick up is at 5pm M-Th.  On Friday, Demonstrations will begin at 2:00pm at the rings (weather permitting), with dismissal following the demos.

Bring Your Own Horse (BYOH): Ages 8 to 16 ( Weeks  6 & 7 )

Bring your horse to summer camp! The BYOH week is designed for riders who own or lease their own horse or pony. Campers should be very experienced and comfortable caring for their own horse and should feel confident while riding their equine companion. Campers who bring their own horse must have received formal riding instruction and be able to, at minimum, steer, stop, walk and trot their horse independently in a group lesson setting. BYOH campers are evaluated on their horses during Monday morning riding evaluations by our riding instructors. Campers are then placed in a group lesson based on their level of experience, not by age. Campers should bring all their necessary supplies for themselves and their horses during their week-long stay at camp. This includes their tack and equipment, feed, bedding, buckets etc. Campers in this program ride twice each day, weather permitting, and participate in a daily barn class, as well as barn chores.

The Counselor-In-Training (Horse)- CIT Ages 16-17 (Overnight Only)

This is a leadership training program that focuses on learning skills in childcare and activity programming. The purpose of the CIT Program is to help these campers understand the value and importance of leadership in a specific camp setting while applying skills they gain during the program including behavior management, emergency preparedness, and overall responsibility in a group setting. Both traditional and horse

CIT programs are available, however, horse CIT is a non-riding program.

All CIT campers must have previously completed the LIT program or have had comparable and verifiable leadership experiences elsewhere. In this way we hope to best prepare out CITs and potential future counselors for the roles they will need to take on at camp.

Note that  CIT's in the Equestrian program do not ride

but support campers in the riding programs.

Internship Program for those that are at least 17 years of age and have completed our CIT Program may be available.
